Big River Cannabis Company was founded on the principle of providing top shelf, premium cannabis at affordable prices. To that end we’ve brought in award-winning cannabis veterans with accomplishments including a High Times Cannabis Cup and numerous awards for edibles and concentrates over the past ten years.

Our Team
Leland "Lee"
Cultivation Manager
In 2004 Lee got the opportunity that very few in the cannabis industry ever get. Lee was hired on as a farm hand at Angelwings Farm in Humboldt, California. Humboldt is the Mecca for Cannabis growing (and the setting of the Murder Mountain Documentary on Netflix.) Outsiders are rarely allowed to visit let alone work in Humboldt Cannabis…so naturally Lee thrived in this role and over the years worked his way up to Farm Manager running 40,000 square feet of Greenhouse Cannabis Cultivation by 2011. In 2014 Lee helped a friend start Kumba Hills Cannabis Farm in the Oregon mountains. Within a year Lee and his team built a ten acre outdoor cannabis farm along with a 500-light indoor cultivation facility which is now one of the most respected cannabis farms in Oregon. After Lee and company got it up and running in 2015, Lee left Kumba and finally returned to civilization,
going on to build and run Millenium Farms in Sacramento, California. There he built and ran a 10,000 square foot 500-light indoor cultivation facility pumping out 5,000 pounds a year of craft cannabis. In 2019 Lee returned to Oregon having accomplished an incredible amount of achievements in Cannabis Cultivation. Lee has continued to consult for large breeders and farms in Oregon while pheno hunting new strains and adding to his already prolific collection.
Ryan
Cultivation Program Director
Ryan has been perfecting the art of growing cannabis since 1997. In 2010 Ryan became the Director of Cultivation at NUG; widely recognized as one of the largest indoor cultivation operations in the United States. During this time Ryan won many awards including the High Times Cannabis Cup, one of the most prestigious accolades in the industry, and mastered the art of growing craft cannabis on a commercial farming scale. Over a decade into his professional farming career Ryan has perfected grow systems and SOP’s to grow Cannabis on a large commercial scale to reduce end cost to the patient. Ryan is OSHA & weighmaster certified. When it comes to indoor commercial farming there is not a single aspect of the industry that Ryan is not leading the pack on technology and innovation while keeping true to tried and tested Farming techniques.
Phen
Co-Founder & Managing Director
Phen’s career started from a passion for Food & Wine. He became a top territory manager at American Premium Beverage, the industry leader in beverage distribution in North Carolina. Returning to his California roots in 2003, Phen obtained his Real Estate License and quickly ascended to the top tier of the residential real estate market. It was at this peak when Phen’s savvy sales ability and expertise with the beverage industry’s distribution model incited an aggressive recruitment to the Cannabis Industry as the Director of Sales of Distribution for NUG. Dominating sales and building the distribution model for entire state of California for several years, Phen played an integral role in NUG’s growth within the Cannabis marketplace. Anticipating a positive shift in the industry, Phen’s reputation, network and strategic mindset coalesced to design
North Star California – the most powerful craft Cannabis Distribution Hub nationwide. This project encompassed designing a fully vertically-integrated cannabis company from the ground up, including cultivation, packaging, sales and distribution. Since then Phen has been consulting on various cannabis projects with an emphasis on sustainable business models that benefit both cultivator and customer. Phen’s focus on real, passionate cannabis people and results versus the superficial is key to how Big River can grow the best cannabis in Mississippi at affordable prices. Phen’s experience at all levels of the cannabis industry allowed him to bring with him talented industry veterans who share his passion for farm-to-flame premium cannabis.
